The Washington Post: Russia is supplying weapons to strengthen defense systems against a potential Israeli attack on Iran.
The American newspaper The Washington Post, citing some intelligence officials, wrote that the partnership between Moscow and Tehran to strengthen the capabilities of both countries is on the rise.
The newspaper notes that last March, a Russian arms company invited a 17-member Iranian delegation to a VIP tour to purchase from its factory, mentioning that the visitors were hosted with lunch and cultural shows, and on the final day, they visited factories that produce advanced air defense systems, which are of interest to Tehran, designed to shoot down aircraft.
It is unclear whether the visit of the Iranians to this factory directly resulted in a purchase.
In 2022, Iran provided thousands of drones and missiles to Russia to use in the war against Ukraine.
