Ismail Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Iran does not consider the current situation to be one of neither war nor peace and believes that with the continuation of sanctions, naval blockade, and military actions by the United States, the country is effectively in a state of war. Baghaei emphasized that from Tehran’s perspective, sanctions and naval blockade are part of the war against Iran, and the actions that Iran takes in response to these pressures fall within the framework of self-defense.
