Where is Mayelikohan’s economic progress, why don’t we see it?
Mohammad Mayelikohan, the former head coach of Iran’s national football team, said regarding the topic that some government officials believe there has been economic progress: ‘Naturally, progress should show itself in people’s livelihoods. Perhaps these individuals only see their surroundings, but a wide range of people do not have a good economic situation. If we do not plan for the future, the situation will worsen. So far, we have not had foresight.’
Regarding the situation of the Esteghlal and Persepolis clubs and the discussion about their privatization, he said: ‘What will happen if they are privatized? Right now, you see that the contracts are not bad, in fact, they are quite good, but most of our friends are complaining. Imagine what will happen if they are in private hands. Right now, when they are not private, the officials say we have no money. Imagine the day they are privatized; at least now it is easier to inject money into them.’
Regarding his longstanding disputes with Amir Ghalenoei and the question of when this conflict will end, he said: ‘In what sense should it end? I do not deny the things I have said, and I stand by them.’
