Flogging and imprisonment await three former Esteghlal managers
The Gol newspaper in Iran has reported that in the ongoing judicial investigation of the extensive financial corruption case in Iranian football, prison and flogging sentences have been issued against at least three former managers of Esteghlal Club.
The newspaper explained that none of these managers are currently active in Iranian football, but in the past, both distant and recent, they held the reins of Esteghlal Tehran Club and apparently committed serious mistakes.
In another part of the Gol newspaper report, it is mentioned that soon news related to other clubs will also be published, which will certainly be shocking for the fans and enthusiasts of Iranian football.
In the past month, there have been reports about the summoning of Mostafa Ajorlu, Ali Fathollahzadeh, and Ali Khatir, three former CEOs of Esteghlal Tehran Club, to court to respond to charges regarding payments made to Premier League referees in recent seasons.
