The White House National Security Advisor says the establishment of a Palestinian state is the only way to ensure Israel’s security.
Jake Sullivan, the White House National Security Advisor, claimed early Monday that reaching a prisoner exchange agreement between Israel and Hamas and a temporary halt to the conflicts in Gaza is not very accessible.
In an interview with ABC, Sullivan stated that in our view, a prisoner exchange agreement is essential to create a lasting pause in hostilities, which could lead to the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and reduce the suffering of Palestinians.
He explained that such negotiations progress slowly until they suddenly accelerate, making it difficult to set an exact timeline for when an agreement might be reached or indeed if an agreement will be reached at all.
This American security official reiterated that Washington sees only one sustainable solution for achieving peace in the West Asia region and ensuring Israel’s security, which is the establishment of a Palestinian state with security guarantees for Tel Aviv.
