White House: North Korea's Missile Test Violates UN Security Council Resolutions

The White House says North Korea’s missile test is a violation of UN Security Council resolutions

Adrienne Watson, spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, stated in a statement published on the White House website that Washington strongly condemns this missile test, as it is a serious violation of several United Nations Security Council resolutions.

In this statement, Watson added that while the United States Indo-Pacific Command has assessed that this issue does not pose an immediate threat to American personnel, the homeland, or its allies, it does increase tensions and brings the risk of destabilizing the region’s security situation.

The White House National Security Council spokesperson continued, saying that this only demonstrates that North Korea prioritizes its illegal weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs over the welfare of its people.
