Whitewashing by Creating the Term ‘Victim Fabrication’
From the perspective of conservative media, their political figures, and the state media, only the deaths of Basij members and law enforcement officers in recent protests are considered real, newsworthy, and deserving of the title ‘martyr’. Anything else is suspicious and is labeled not as a martyr or a victim, but as ‘victim fabrication’. This term was first used during the 2009 protests by those in power to deny and refute any deaths caused by shootings in the streets by military or law enforcement forces.
They believed that the news of the deceased was fake, or if true, there was a scenario behind it, which they called ‘victim fabrication’. This term became a key phrase for them to escape responsibility for their actions and to whitewash the actions of the law enforcement or plainclothes agents. The claim of ‘victim fabrication’ has been especially highlighted in the recent deaths of Nika Shakarami and Sarina Esmailzadeh.
The judiciary and law enforcement insist it was suicide, but the families say otherwise, and the public, based on the evidence released, has a different belief.
From Empty Hands to Demands for Action
The ruling media, which believes all news of the deceased is just a ‘victim fabrication’ scenario, are so empty-handed that to complete their idea, they refer back to the old cases of Taraneh Mousavi or Saeedeh Pouraghaei, which were targeted security scenarios, or they point to some films and photos published on social media that supposedly don’t match reality, to conclude that all the deceased in recent protests were part of a scenario.
Grasping at the process of ‘fake news’, which is a common occurrence on social media, alongside mentioning one or two security projects, is meant to tarnish and question the essence of the events and incidents that have occurred.
The newspaper Javan has taken it a step further and called for legal action against those who claimed someone was killed in these protests. Now, the fabricators who have created and spread lies without accountability and have spun tales about the manner of these deaths must answer to the law.
If in past seditions someone had been held accountable before the law for fabrications and victim fabrications, perhaps these repetitive games wouldn’t happen so easily. It’s still not too late; the architects and fabricators of victim fabrication without accountability should be dealt with using the law.
A Scenario for a Scenario
This is while the images and videos released from the nationwide protests and the attacks by law enforcement and paramilitary forces on protesters, and the news of protesters’ deaths, are so clear and revealing that they neutralize any explanation or storytelling.
Despite this, the ‘victim fabrication’ scenario is still being pursued by revolutionary media. In one of these scenarios, it is written that the People’s Mojahedin, anti-revolutionaries, and separatist terrorist groups have infiltrated among the protesters and want to execute the ‘victim fabrication’ scenario among the protesting people and the stationed security forces at the right opportunity.
The continuation of this article states that their scenario is such that a five-member armed team is secretly present among the protesting crowd, positions themselves around, and at the right moment, shoots at protesters or ordinary people watching, killing individuals while simultaneously shouting that security forces have fired. The next step is to shoot at security forces and police from among the protesters, killing or injuring individuals.
Then, it is recommended that families whose children knowingly or unknowingly participate in protests and riots know that in this sensitive situation in the region, enemies of Iran and Iranians are pursuing a ‘victim fabrication’ scenario for the people and security forces. Therefore, we give a serious warning to families, to parents, to prevent their children from participating in illegal protests and riots so they do not fall victim to the ‘victim fabrication’ scenario of enemies and enemy mercenaries.
Evidence Says Otherwise
Vahid Ashtari, a justice-seeking media activist who is currently a critic and protester of current policies, claimed in a tweet that he personally investigated and spoke with neighbors, concluding that Nika Shakarami committed suicide. However, his explanations did not convince Twitter users, and the questions raised under the same tweet show that there are many ambiguities about the cause of her death with the reason of suicide, given the existing evidence.
For instance, if her ID or phone was with her, then why did no one contact her family? Interestingly, Ashtari later tweeted that security agencies told local shopkeepers and residents why they allowed him into the building or talked to him and gave him information.
Questions and disbelief in what they call ‘victim fabrication’ increase when, besides Nika, it is now claimed that Sarina also committed suicide. But the story gets more interesting when it is revealed that the woman who appeared on camera claiming to be Sarina Esmailzadeh’s mother and said her daughter committed suicide is not Sarina’s mother. Users have published images of Sarina and her mother from Sarina’s own Instagram page, which bear no resemblance to the woman who posed as Sarina’s mother on camera.
Statements on Victim Fabrication
In these days, we have seen people who were present at events with the intent of victim fabrication, and this is the enemy’s strategy. 17 individuals with military weapons were arrested in the riots; their intention was chaos and disrupting order and security to continue the victim fabrication project and unrest.
According to reliable information, opposition groups are using firearms to pursue victim fabrication, and in this regard, the people need to be fully alert. The deaths of three individuals in illegal gatherings in Kurdistan province are suspicious.
In recent days, some hostile media outlets have tried to attribute Nika Shakarami’s death to the law enforcement and security officers. Speculations about whether Nika Shakarami died from a fall during the incident or was deliberately killed by a group continue in social media.
Watch the complete video of Nika Shakarami, the 17-year-old girl who became a victim of the rioters’ victim fabrication project, singing, which has been published on Instagram. The project of victim fabrication and public property destruction with the aim of sinister political exploitation is the main plot and conspiracy of the enemies of the revolution to create unrest and riots in various parts of the country.
