Widespread Power Outage in Iran

The demand of 79,872 megawatts for electricity consumption in the country yesterday, to the astonishment and disbelief of power industry experts, set a strange record in the history of Iran’s electricity industry.

Once again, yesterday, the historical record for electricity consumption in the country was broken, and a new benchmark in electricity consumption was set with a demand of 79,872 megawatts at 14:27.

Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, the spokesperson for the power industry, said regarding this, the demand of 79,872 megawatts for electricity consumption in the country yesterday, to the astonishment and disbelief of power industry experts, set a strange record in the history of Iran’s electricity industry.

He added that only 128 megawatts remain to break the record of 80,000 megawatts. The numbers that are being recorded one after another in the country’s power industry statistics as consumption demand are truly astonishing, and a lot of effort is being made by the power industry colleagues to meet this demand.

Rajabi Mashhadi described this level of demand as equivalent to the consumption of two countries, Egypt and Spain, and emphasized that we are experiencing intense heat adhesion, continuing that this unusual heat, according to the meteorological organization’s forecast, will prevail over the country until the middle of next week.

The CEO of Tavanir Company stated that the average growth in electricity consumption over the past 10 years has been 47%, and this year, due to repeated record-breaking in electricity consumption, this growth has increased to more than 85%.
