Continuing the phenomenon of serial suicides among young doctors in Iran, an official from the Medical Council confirmed that Parastoo Bakhshi committed suicide due to immense pressure at work.

According to information shared on social media by at least one university professor and a Medical Council official in Iran, Dr. Parastoo Bakhshi, a 34-year-old cardiologist, committed suicide at her residence in Noorabad Delfan Hospital in Lorestan Province.

The exact time of this incident is still unknown, but according to the director of Delfan’s Health and Treatment Network, several hospital staff found her body in the hospital dormitory last Saturday night, March 25.

The death of this young female doctor in the early days of the new year has sparked widespread reactions from her peers on social media.
