Work Immigration to Canada Became More Difficult

Work migration to Canada has become more difficult

On Thursday, March 21, Canada announced that for the first time in history, after years of high acceptance of immigrants, it intends to reduce the number of temporary foreign workers

Ottawa announced that it wants to reduce the number of temporary residents in the country from 62 percent of the current total population, equivalent to 25 million people, to five percent of the total population within three years

This goal will be finalized after consultation with provincial officials in Canada. Some provinces in the country have reduced immigrant acceptance amid a housing crisis and increased demand for services

The new restrictions on temporary foreign workers’ permits will begin on May 1
