Six-month wait for workers for the enactment of the legal housing allowance
Faramarz Tofighi, a representative of workers’ wages, said that workers have been waiting for six months for the enactment of the legal housing allowance. The Supreme Labor Council approved the housing allowance to be 650,000 tomans from the beginning of the year in March, but there is still no news of the law being implemented.
The government cannot disregard wage laws. There is no precedent for the housing allowance approved by the Supreme Labor Council, which was ratified with the signatures of government ministers, not being implemented. This is the first time we see the government not adhering to the signatures of its own ministers.
