The rebellious wrestler Ali Arslan rejected the offer from the Greco-Roman wrestling team of the Stars.
The world champion in the 72 kg category of Greco-Roman wrestling did not accept the offer from the World Stars team to participate in the World Cup competitions.
The 2022 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Cup competitions will be held over two days, November 5th and 6th, with the participation of six teams: Azerbaijan, Turkey, Serbia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, and the World Stars in Baku.
Hassan Rangraz’s students are grouped with Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, and in the other group, Serbia, Azerbaijan, and the World Stars will compete against each other in the preliminary round. The first team from each group will become finalists, and the second teams will compete against each other in the ranking match.
Ali Arslan, who joined the Serbian national team last year after obtaining dual citizenship and won a gold medal for them at the Belgrade World Championships in the 72 kg category, does not intend to participate in the World Cup. He received an offer to join the World Selected Team or the World Wrestling Stars but stated that he is not ready for competition.
Arslan said that if he intended to participate in the World Cup, he would accompany the Serbian team in these competitions.
