Yahya Ebrahimi on Poisonings: Officials Were Not Honest

Yahya Ebrahimi said that the officials were not honest about the poisonings.

While responsible authorities in Iran are not providing any leads about the poisonings, a member of parliament admitted to a cover-up in this matter and ruled out foreign involvement. The international community is calling for an independent investigation into the poisonings. Yahya Ebrahimi, a member of the 11th Parliament’s Health Commission, stated in an interview that the officials were not honest with the public about the chain poisonings and kept the issue hidden for a long time.

He did not deny that only after the poisonings spread from Qom to other cities did the officials and parliament get involved in the matter. He added that a few days ago, there was a meeting attended by security forces, IRGC intelligence, law enforcement, and the Minister of Interior.

I, as a doctor, said that first and foremost, we should speak honestly with the people so that the process of follow-ups and the cooperation of the public with us improves.
