Yalda Aghafazli's Father: You Took Away the Freedom of Iranian Children's Eyes

Yalda Aghafazli’s father, for freedom, you took the eyes of Iran’s children

Mehrdad Aghafazli, the father of Yalda Aghafazli, one of those killed in the nationwide protests in Iran, wrote on Instagram by sharing a photo of a group meeting of those who were injured in the eyes during the protests, saying, ‘These are all the children of Iran whose eyes you took for a bit of freedom and a better life. These children went and got injured for a better life for themselves and all of us. Why don’t you want us, the people, to have a bit of peace? What are you afraid of? Why does our happiness bother you?’

Yalda Aghafazli, born on December 22, 2003, was a protester who was arrested on October 26 during the protests in Iran near Enghelab Street in Tehran.

She was released on November 6 and told her friends that despite the pressure from her interrogators, she did not express regret. She passed away five days after being released from prison.
