Yossi Cohen says Mossad conducts intelligence operations directly inside Iran
Yossi Cohen, the former head of Mossad, stated in an interview with Haaretz that the organization carries out its intelligence operations directly inside Iran and does not rely on intermediaries for missions.
He said Israeli intelligence agents enter Iran, establish networks, and engage in information gathering.
Cohen, referring to recent American and Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities during the twelve-day war, said the aim of these actions was to create a significant pause in Tehran’s nuclear program.
He added that claiming the complete destruction of this program is not realistic, but the pause created is of high importance.
According to the former head of Mossad, the Islamic Republic still has a stockpile of enriched uranium and has not abandoned its nuclear goals.
He went on to say regarding regional relations that he considers the possibility of a peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel conceivable and believes that within this framework, a solution to the Palestinian issue can also be sought.
