Zahedan's Internet Connection Disrupted

Internet connection in Zahedan was cut off

The NetBlocks website, which monitors internet connectivity networks worldwide, reported on Friday that on the eve of Friday prayers, the internet in the city of Zahedan was cut off.

In the seven months since the beginning of the protests in Iran, Zahedan and other cities in the Sistan and Baluchestan province have been the scene of protesters taking to the streets every Friday. The protesters’ marches usually take place after a speech by Molavi Abdolhamid, an influential Sunni cleric in this province.

The internet shutdown once again indicates that the government is trying by all means to prevent the dissemination of news related to this province.
