Zahra Elahian: I Consider the EU Sanctions an Honor for Myself

Zahra Elahian considers the European Union’s sanction an honor for herself.

Zahra Elahian, a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in an interview with the political reporter of Maniban, reacted to the recent European Union sanctions and especially her own sanction by saying it seems these blind and futile sanctions stem from desperation. Countries that harbor a sense of animosity towards the ideology of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic have resorted to sanctions because they have been unable to achieve successes on their path. She added that, for instance, in recent months and during the recent riots, the grand plan these countries had reached a dead end, and due to the presence and vigilance of the wise Iranian nation, they realized they faced a major defeat. On the other hand, the Iranian nation has become more vigilant, and therefore, they have turned to blind actions such as sanctioning individuals and legal entities.
