Zahra Rahnavard’s message on the occasion of March 8: The poisoning of students is an anti-woman scenario
Zahra Rahnavard, one of the leaders of the protests against the results of the June 2009 elections, which became known as the Green Movement, in a message published on the Kalemeh website on the occasion of March 8, International Women’s Day, described the widespread poisoning of female students as the ugliest and most disastrous anti-woman scenario, but did not consider it a barrier to the movement of Iranian women.
In this message, Ms. Rahnavard, after congratulating Women’s Day worldwide, said, ‘But alas and a hundred regrets for these times in Iran, where girl-killing has emerged as the ugliest and most disastrous anti-woman scenario by reactionary forces, with the support of rulers or their silence and pretense of ignorance. This vengeance against innocent elementary and high school girls and female university students is because the rulers see them as part of the ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ protest movement, led by women seeking justice for Mahsa Zhina Amini and protesting not only against compulsory hijab but against all forms of tyranny and authoritarianism against their personal and private lives.’
