Zhina Modares-Gorji, Civil Activist, Arrested for the Second Time

Zhina Modares Gorji, a civil activist, was arrested for the second time.

According to the human rights organization Hengaw, Zhina Modares Gorji, a journalist and women’s rights activist from Sanandaj, has been arrested for the second time in recent months.

Based on this report, Ms. Modares Gorji was arrested yesterday on her way from her workplace bookstore to her home.

In March of the previous year, 1401 (Iranian calendar), she was accused of acting against national security by forming and joining an illegal group. This civil activist had previously been accused of propaganda against the regime.

Zhina Modares Gorji was arrested in late September and was temporarily released on November 8th of last year after posting a bail of 100 million tomans until the end of legal proceedings.
