We welcome the normalization of relations with Morocco by Amir-Abdollahian.

Continuing the efforts of the Islamic Republic to normalize relations with Arab countries, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic announced that Tehran welcomes the reestablishment of ties with Morocco.

On Friday, 8th of Tir, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, among the ambassadors of Islamic countries in Tehran, stated that we also welcome the appropriate development of relations and the return of normal relations with other regional and global Islamic countries, including the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Muslim and brotherly country of Morocco.

In recent months, officials of the Islamic Republic have repeatedly announced their efforts to establish relations with Egypt.

Five years ago, Morocco severed its relations with Iran due to Tehran’s support for Hezbollah and the Polisario Front. The relations between Morocco and Iran have always been tense after the establishment of the Islamic Republic.
