Amir-Abdollahian confirmed the prisoner exchange with Belgium, Asadollah Asadi is on his way back to Iran.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, confirmed and announced in a tweet his reaction to the news of Iran and Belgium’s agreement for a prisoner exchange, stating that Asadollah Asadi is on his way back to Iran.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman announced on Saturday, 5th of Khordad, without providing details, that Belgium and Iran have reached an agreement for the exchange of prisoners between the two countries with the mediation of Oman.

The Belgian government independently announced the name of its released citizen, Olivier Vanderkastel, as a freed individual.
