Financial Times conceals real inflation data from government

The Financial Times alleges that the Iranian government is concealing real inflation data

The British newspaper, The Financial Times, reports that amidst the deepening economic crisis in Iran, the government is concealing real data on the level of inflation and unprecedented price hikes

The newspaper’s correspondent in Tehran, citing domestic economists, wrote that the inflation rate is over 477%, which the government announced as the annual inflation rate in late Bahman (February). The real rate has jumped to its highest level in the past 28 years and surpassed 49%

In the same context, the Etemad newspaper wrote last week that the government is playing with numbers to show a superficial decrease in the inflation rate
