France condemns Iran’s ballistic missile tests

The French government has condemned Iran’s latest test of long-range ballistic missiles, considering it a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 adopted in 2015.

The spokesperson for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday, May 24th, that these activities are more concerning in the context of ongoing tensions regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

Just hours before that, the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Republic announced the construction and testing of a new ballistic missile from the Khorramshahr missile family, naming it Khyber.

In a ceremony held to showcase the Khyber missile, which was directly broadcasted on Iranian state television, military officials placed the missile alongside a model of the Dome of the Rock in the old part of the city of Jerusalem, which appears to be a threatening message to Israel.
