The people and officials have asked us to take action

The people and officials have asked us, the commanders of the law enforcement forces, to take action.

Ahmadreza Radan, the Chief Commander of the Iranian law enforcement, explained the reasons for the involvement of the law enforcement forces in the radio and television programs. He said that if the message of hijab (headscarf) was given once and the recipient said it was a mistake, we accept it. But if we send it a second time, it means a negligence has occurred and the next operation should be carried out.

However, he did not provide any explanation about what the next operation exactly is and what action the law enforcement forces will take.

The commander of the law enforcement forces said that the people and officials have asked the law enforcement forces to take action regarding the issue of hijab.

Since the killing of Mahsa Amini in September last year, putting an end to mandatory hijab has become one of the important demands of the protesters.

During these six months, for the first time since the mandatory hijab was imposed about 40 years ago, some women have refrained from covering their hair, a move that often attracts public support and solidarity.
