The main suspect in the Pentagon document leak has been arrested.
Shortly after the name of the main suspect in the disclosure of classified US military documents was announced in the American media and confirmed by government officials, the US Attorney General’s Office announced that FBI agents had arrested him and he is expected to appear in court today in Boston.
This 21-year-old was apprehended by the FBI at his family home in Dayton, Massachusetts on Friday.
US officials have told CBS News that the name of the main suspect in the leak of classified defense and intelligence documents is Jack Tishira.
US officials said that he will be charged under the 1917 Espionage Act, which considers the physical or electronic transfer of classified defense information as a crime.
Earlier, The New York Times reported that the administrator of a video game chat group where the documents were leaked had a similar name.
