Vietnamese illegal immigrants drown on their way to Taiwan

Taiwanese news sources have reported that over 12 Vietnamese citizens, whose bodies were found on the shores of Taiwan last month, were attempting to return to the country.

Earlier, Taiwanese immigration police had deported these individuals who had illegally entered the country.

According to these sources, an investigation into the group’s route shows that they entered China after crossing the mountainous border from northern Vietnamese villages. They then traveled to coastal areas by bus and purchased a boat for the final leg of their journey.

It is believed that the boat may have sunk due to bad weather conditions.

Taiwan is facing a labor shortage, and illegal immigrants from neighboring countries come to this country for work.
