Amir-Abdollahian: We welcome the normalization of relations with Morocco
Continuing the Islamic Republic’s efforts to normalize relations with Arab countries, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic announced that Tehran welcomes the re-establishment of relations with Morocco.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, on Thursday, June 29, speaking to the ambassadors of Islamic countries in Tehran, said that we also welcome the development of relations and the return to normal relations with other regional and global Islamic countries, including the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Muslim and brotherly country of Morocco.
In recent months, officials of the Islamic Republic have repeatedly announced their efforts to establish relations with Egypt.
Five years ago, Morocco severed its relations with Iran due to Tehran and Hezbollah’s support for the Polisario Front. Relations between Morocco and Iran have always been tense since the establishment of the Islamic Republic.
