Annual inflation of food items has surpassed 71 percent

The Statistical Center of Iran, in its latest monthly report, states that food items in the 12 months leading up to June this year have experienced an annual inflation rate of 71.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

In the absence of Central Bank statistics, this governmental body reports that the price of some items, such as cooking oil, has tripled, while others, like meat, have seen an increase of over 80 percent.

The Statistical Center also claims that the price increase of food items in June this year compared to the same month last year has resulted in a point-to-point inflation rate of 42.6 percent.
