Attack on Kurdish center in Paris leads to clashes and conflict with police

Following the deadly attack on a Kurdish cultural center, which was accompanied by street protests, thousands of people took to the streets again on Saturday, December 24th.

Representatives of Kurdish groups, leftist parties, anti-racism groups, and others gathered at Place de la République to honor the victims of this attack.

Some participants chanted slogans against the Turkish government.

On the sidelines of a demonstration that was mainly peaceful, clashes with the police occurred. Protesters responded by throwing objects as the police used tear gas.

At least four vehicles were overturned, and one of them was set on fire. Trash bins were also burned, and bus stations were vandalized.

In Marseille, Kurds also took to the streets, and clashes with the police occurred in this major city in southern France.
