Axios: Iran has rejected the Lebanese militia’s request to attack Israel
Axios reported, citing two Israeli officials and a Western diplomat, that the Lebanese militia recently asked the Islamic Republic of Iran to attack Israel amid rising tensions with Israel, but the Islamic Republic has so far refrained from doing so.
These two Israeli officials told Axios that officials of the Islamic Republic have informed their partners in the Lebanese militia that due to Masoud Pezeshkian’s presence in New York, now is not the right time to attack Israel.
A senior Israeli official also told Axios that Israel’s security cabinet has instructed its military to avoid actions that might give the Islamic Republic of Iran an excuse to join the war.
