I proposed a series of practical actions to revive the joint statement during my meeting with Amirabdollahian.

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency arrived in Tehran for meetings and discussions with Iranian authorities regarding Iran’s nuclear plans. Grossi, leading a team from the agency, arrived in Iran on Tuesday, May 7th, and shortly after meeting with Iranian Foreign Ministry officials, announced a proposal for practical actions to revive the joint statement by 2023. He tweeted later that after meeting with Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Foreign Minister, and Ali Bagheri Kani, the Deputy Foreign Minister, he presented a proposal aimed at restoring the confidence-building process and increasing transparency. Mr. Grossi had warned before the trip that Iran had increased its enriched uranium levels, which could potentially be used in weapon production.
