Following the collapse of Germany’s coalition government due to internal disagreements last week, it was decided that the people of this country will go to the polls in an early election on February 23rd, equivalent to the 5th of Esfand.
According to German media reports, Olaf Scholz, the current Chancellor of Germany, along with Friedrich Merz, the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), which is considered the main opposition party, agreed to schedule a vote of no confidence in the government for December 16th, equivalent to the 26th of Azar.
Mr. Scholz initially proposed holding the vote of no confidence session on January 15th, equivalent to the 26th of Dey, and conducting the elections in March. However, Mr. Merz did not accept this date, arguing that Scholz’s government can no longer rely on a parliamentary majority to govern effectively.
