European Union foreign ministers postponed the decision and discussion about Iran
European Union foreign ministers gathered in Brussels to discuss the Ukraine war, lifting sanctions on Syria, and Iran’s destabilizing role, but the discussion about Iran was postponed.
Kasra Naji, a BBC Persian reporter, asked Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy and security chief, at a press conference what Europe’s stance is on the US’s maximum pressure policy.
Ms. Kaja Kallas responded that we wanted to talk about Iran, but due to the absence of some important foreign ministers, this session was postponed to March.
Without naming which foreign minister was absent, she only mentioned that the foreign ministers of the three European countries, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, who were part of the 2015 nuclear agreement, the JCPOA, with Iran were present.
It was expected that the nuclear program and European prisoners in Iran would be topics of discussion at this meeting.
