Faghani Will Not Referee in the Round of 16

Faghani will not referee in the Round of 16.

The name of the international Iranian football referee is not on the list of referees for the Round of 16 of the World Cup.

The list of referees for the remaining Round of 16 matches of the World Cup has been announced. Accordingly, Ismail Elfath from the USA, Clément Turpin from France, Fernando Rapallini from Argentina, and César Ramos from Switzerland will officiate the four remaining matches of this stage.

We have to wait and see if FIFA will use Alireza Faghani in the continuation of the World Cup competitions.

Faghani has previously refereed two group stage matches: Brazil vs. Serbia and Portugal vs. Uruguay. His decision after using VAR in the Portugal vs. Uruguay match caused controversy.
