Food Item Inflation Announced to Be Over 76 Percent

Food item inflation announced at over 76 percent

The Statistical Center of Iran, in its latest monthly report, announced that the increase in food item prices this May compared to the same month last year was over 76 percent.

According to the details of the statistics from this government body, which were released on Thursday, May 25th, some food items have experienced significant inflation. For instance, the price of various edible oils has more than doubled, and the price of different types of meat has almost doubled.

The Statistical Center claims that the inflation for May compared to the same month last year is about 55 percent, and this figure for this April and last March is 55 percent and 50 percent respectively.
