Former Deputy of Commerce and International Affairs of the Ministry of Oil: As long as we have conflicts with the world, we must rule out gas trade

The former Deputy Minister of Commerce and International Affairs of the Ministry of Oil says that as long as we have conflicts with the world, we must forget about gas trade.

Ali Majedi, the former Deputy Minister of Commerce and International Affairs of the Ministry of Oil, stated in an interview with ILNA

We potentially have the world’s second-largest gas reserves, but we have always lost the trade because of a lack of investment. Due to sanctions, we have not had serious gas exports, while Qatar has signed numerous contracts with Total and American companies. None of these companies come to Iran because of the sanctions. As long as we have policies of conflict with the world, we must forget about gas trade.

We cannot clash with the world and boast, then expect investors to come to Iran. We need to change our interaction with the world and be able to use the country’s resources optimally. In this way, all companies will return.
