Google Drive cloud service files disappeared

Google says it is investigating reports from Google Drive users who claim their personal files have unexpectedly disappeared from the cloud service.

Google confirmed the issue today in a user discussion forum in the support section. The company says this problem has occurred for a limited number of Google Drive desktop users.

The tech giant attributes the problem to syncing versions 84000 to 84040 of the Google Drive desktop.

Currently, the forum where this issue was raised has 192 users, some of whom are seeking solutions to recover their data.

One user has said that even an IT expert was unable to find any trace of the files.
