Intercity bus tickets increased by 29 percent

Ahmadreza Ameri, the CEO of the Union of Passenger Transport Cooperatives in Iran, said today, May 16, that the price of intercity bus tickets increased by 29 percent from today. Considering the request we had previously submitted to the Market Regulation Headquarters, the prices have changed.

He attributed the ticket price hike to the increased costs for transportation companies and stated that they had requested a price change from the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization months ago.

Following the skyrocketing prices of airline tickets, intercity buses became a relatively suitable alternative for many segments of society in Iran, including academics and project workers. According to Mr. Ameri, during the Nowruz holidays, prices increased by 25 percent but returned to their previous state after the holidays ended, and no company had the right to change ticket prices until today.
