Interior Minister: We don’t have plainclothes agents

Ahmad Vahidi, the Interior Minister of Iran, denied the presence of plainclothes agents, calling it propaganda. However, he mentioned that naturally, intelligence officers are required to be present everywhere in their specific attire, and it’s not called plainclothes; it’s their duty.

Vahidi did not specify what the attire of the intelligence officers he referred to is, nor did he explain what exactly intelligence officers wear in public gatherings.

The Iranian Interior Minister further claimed that those from the police force and those dear ones from the Revolutionary Guards and Basij were present in recognizable uniforms, and we didn’t have anything called plainclothes. These were dear ones who were clearly visible at intersections, and there was generally no need for anyone to be in plainclothes.
