Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons
An assessment by a U.S. intelligence agency indicates that Iran is currently not pursuing the construction of nuclear weapons, but it has increased its activities in this area, which could aid in the production of such weapons.
In the assessment by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, released on Monday, July 10, it is stated that since 2020, Iran has been seeking to enhance its capacity to build an atomic bomb but has not taken any steps to produce one.
The Associated Press, by publishing parts of the report from the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence, emphasized that this report aligns with previous U.S. assessments regarding Iran’s nuclear program, although many in Congress and other U.S. institutions have doubts about its accuracy.
In the two-page summary of this intelligence assessment, it is emphasized that Iran is currently not carrying out the key activities necessary to produce a testable nuclear bomb.
