Iranian Media: Closure of Some Celebrities’ Businesses
According to Iranian media, some restaurants, cafes, and commercial establishments owned by celebrities in Iran have received closure warning messages. The reason for receiving this warning is the non-compliance with the hijab in these places.
Among these individuals are well-known cinema and sports figures, and Iranian media have mentioned names such as Ali Daei, Bahareh Rahnama, Alireza Mansourian, Mohammad Reza Golzar, and Karim Bagheri.
Since April 15th, the police have initiated a campaign against women’s freedom of dress under the plan known as ‘Chastity and Hijab.’ In the months following the death of Mahsa Amini, many women have appeared in public without hijabs.
In this context, many warning messages have been sent, and some businesses have been closed. Iranian citizens say these messages are sent randomly because many men have also received these messages.
Last week, it was also reported that a restaurant in Vanak, Tehran, owned by Amir Ghalenoei, the head coach of Iran’s national team, was closed.
