Members of the Iranian parliament believe the people are potentially wealthy.
Fereydoun Abbasi, a member of parliament, has stated that Iran and its people are potentially wealthy, but if this wealth has not been realized, it is not the system’s fault.
The Entekhab news site quoted him saying that our country and people are potentially wealthy, and if this wealth has not been realized and does not reflect in the society’s welfare, it is not the fault of the Islamic Republic system, but rather due to the enemy’s economic warfare.
He criticizes the representatives for discussing issues like poverty and deprivation in their regions and says that we should loudly announce the country’s strengths and there’s no need to highlight weaknesses; instead, we should focus on solving the people’s problems.
Mr. Abbasi also attributes some shortages in the country to accumulated historical backwardness and says that certain developments throughout Iran’s history led to the country’s lag, but with the victory of the Islamic Revolution, a movement began that brought facilities such as electricity, water, telephone, and gas to remote parts of the country.
