Joe Biden in meeting with Zelensky: Ukraine will never stand alone
U.S. President Joe Biden, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the United States will stand by Ukraine in the war for as long as necessary.
During Mr. Zelensky’s visit to the White House, he said, ‘You will never stand alone.’
This is Mr. Zelensky’s first trip since Russia’s military attack on Ukraine at the end of last February.
On Wednesday night, after talks with his counterpart at the White House, Mr. Zelensky addressed the U.S. Congress to call for the continuation of American aid, which he described as vital.
In Congress, he said that Ukraine needs more weapons and requires more artillery and shells to drive out Russian forces.
During Wednesday’s meeting, Joe Biden approved a new $2 billion aid package for Ukraine and promised an additional $45 billion in aid, which must first be approved by Congress.
He also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no intention whatsoever of ending this brutal war.
