Kayhan newspaper’s attack on Gholamhossein Karbaschi

Kayhan newspaper reviewed the recent statements of Gholamhossein Karbaschi, who complained about the country’s economic situation and expressed concern for people’s livelihoods, and attacked him, asking this reformist political activist how he dares to speak about people’s livelihoods.

Kayhan wrote that it should be noted that the author of the above article, Gholamhossein Karbaschi, is the initiator of the infiltration of organized corruption into the country’s political structure. In 1998, Karbaschi, along with several of his deputies and district mayors of Tehran, was arrested and interrogated. Karbaschi’s trial sessions were broadcast live on television every night.

The investigation into the charges against Gholamhossein Karbaschi as the mayor of Tehran, and about 104 other defendants in the municipality embezzlement case, which included all senior and mid-level managers of the municipality and contractors, lasted for eight sessions.
