Mehdi Taremi’s Criticism of Iran’s Economic Situation: The People Are Buckling Under Pressure

Mehdi Taremi, the forward for Iran’s national football team, criticized the economic situation in Iran in an Instagram story, stating that the people are buckling under economic pressure.

In this post, he wrote, ‘Do you know what has happened to the people? Tell me exactly what you are waiting for, are you waiting for a miracle to solve the problems? If you realize how empty the tables are and you can’t do anything about it, and if you have a conscience, then why are you still in your positions? Many families have fallen so far below the poverty line that it is no longer visible to them.’

Mr. Taremi further wrote, ‘What exactly are you waiting for? Are you waiting for a miracle? Do you know what has happened to the people? Why don’t you apologize and resign?’
