Message from Vali, Human Rights Activist: I Will Not Attend the Court on December 28th

Payam Vali, a human rights activist, will not attend the court on December 28th.

Payam Vali, a human rights activist, has announced that he will not be present at the court session scheduled for December 28th.

According to a knowledgeable source, Payam Vali, a Baha’i citizen who is imprisoned in Ghezel Hesar, has refused the court-appointed lawyer due to what he considers a violation of Article 48 of the Criminal Procedure Code by Asif al-Hosseini, the head of the Revolutionary Court of Karaj and the judge of the case. He has decided not to attend the court session due to being deprived of the right to have a chosen lawyer.

Payam Vali was arrested at his workplace on September 24, 2022.
