Mohammad Darvish: Filling the Chamshir Dam is an infraction

In response to the announcement of the Chamshir Dam being filled, Mohammad Darvish stated that usually, dam filling ceremonies are held with much fanfare and the highest officials are invited, especially since this is the fifth largest dam in Iran. Yet, we see that they have started the filling process completely secretly.

Despite all the denials and contradictory news about the filling of the Chamshir Dam, the ISNA news agency has reported on the dam’s filling by releasing a video.

Since May 2013, when the then Minister of Energy announced the start of construction of the concrete body of the Chamshir Dam in Gachsaran, many opponents have been striving to alert the relevant authorities to the dangers of filling this dam, because the Chamshir Dam is built on the Gachsaran salt formation, and using it could repeat the Gotvand 2 disaster, this time in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad.
