Mohammad Sadegh Koushki: Children’s accounts are separate from their parents.
Mohammad Sadegh Koushki, a principlist political activist, in an interview with Rouydad 24, reacted to the migration of Ansieh Khazali’s son, the Vice President for Family Affairs, saying:
Senior officials of the government should think of a solution for this situation. Of course, this issue has existed in all administrations and is not exclusive to Mr. Raisi’s government.
Officials say that our children are independent and make their own decisions about their lives, and ultimately, our accounts are separate from theirs. This response from officials is legally correct and acceptable, but in any case, the presence of officials’ children in enemy countries like the United States and England can become a pressure lever against the Islamic Republic.
The defense of officials in these cases is also acceptable because their children are adults, and the accounts of the children are separate from those of their parents.
If officials and their children have used their personal funds for these trips, there is no problem, and legally it is not prosecutable, and no objection is valid. We hope that officials have not sent their children abroad with public funds.
