One kilogram of red meat half a million tomans

The price of red meat in Iran on Friday, February 17, surpassed 500 thousand tomans. According to Iranian media, the price of each kilogram of boneless stew lamb meat reached 509 thousand tomans, and the price of one kilogram of premium lamb red meat increased to about 580 thousand tomans.

On the same day, Mehdi Yousefkhan, head of the Bird and Fish Union, announced an increase in chicken prices, stating that the current price of live chicken in poultry farms is 43 thousand tomans per kilogram, and warm chicken in retail stores is 63 thousand tomans.

According to him, in recent days, the price of each kilogram of live chicken has increased by five thousand tomans due to reduced supply by poultry farmers, and warm chicken has increased by seven to eight thousand tomans.

Mr. Yousefkhan announced that the current price of each kilogram of chicken drumstick is 63 thousand tomans, breast is 100 thousand tomans, and chicken fillet is 110 thousand tomans.

According to a report recently published by the Iranian Ministry of Labor, the per capita calorie consumption of each Iranian in 2021 was about 2200 kilocalories, which is 83% less than in 2017 and 185% less than in 2011.
