The issues of freedoms and political and social movements are directly or indirectly addressed in four principles of the constitution: principles 9, 40, 27, and the seventh clause of principle 3. Principle 27, as the most central principle that explicitly addresses the free holding of gatherings, states that the formation of gatherings and marches without carrying weapons is permitted, provided that it does not disrupt the foundations of Islam.
